suck. Because shaithis can't draw them.
I know there's a lot wrong with this sketch, but in particular, I'd like some help with the legs (tho I'll take any help offered )
I know they need to be longer (and I'm pretty sure they're not positioned right), but I can't seem to actually *draw* them longer.
This is supposed to be cartoony, btw. I've been looking through http://www.shanegline.com , and figured I'd try some less-comic-book, more-comic styles
The pose is semi-based off of one of his, but the piece was done w/o looking at anything (other than what I was drawing).
[EDIT: Linked Shane's name to his site]
[EDIT 2: UBB Code makes baby jesus cry]
Cheers,
-shaithis

try to remember that the femeur (i think thats the one i mean, you know, below the knee...) dosent bend back that far, it looks like she broke her leg or something. it would also help to fool around with the positioning of the feet. also, that pole is crooked.

the femeur is actually the longest bone in your body, located above the knee.
I think the legs should be longer, and maybe give her some shoes |

use a reference. As I leanred way back when in my first year of college don't draw from your head or a photograph as a photo is flat. Use a real life model like a sis or a mom.

TheMonkey and Brue - Thanks for the tips on the legs. I'll work on it. TheMonkey, I wasn't really concerned with the pole. Everything that's not the girl is just a half-assed attempt at a fore/backgroundd
Oh, and Brue, I originally was going to draw her standing in a room, not a street. When I added that, I forgot to add shoes.
Wayfinder - I have too many goddamned hobbies. That's my problem. Can't get good at art because I'm too busy making music. Can't get good at music because I'm too busy writing. Can't get good at writing because I'm too busy drawing.
Dangermous - My mum and sisters are 2800 miles away.
But I know what you mean, and yes, I should draw from life. Believe it or not, I actually went to art school (well, for awhile) at Pratt in Brooklyn... so I do have some formal education, but it's been a long time (like about six years) since I really tried to draw. Been too busy designing websites.
Thanks for the comments, guys. I'd forgotten I even posted this to be honest. Too many coronas this weekend. :P
