Without further ado - here it be. Original rez is 2000x2000.
I started this about 2 weeks ago, and just got a chance to work on it again today. Trying to get the lighting right before I start refining this thing.

Looks light nighttime right? OK, we need a lot more deep darks. Like almost half the pic should be very dark. Then you pick your light sources-is one the moon? Then that'll be above(probably). Is it gonna be illuminated by the gun fire? Then that has to cast shadow and spread over his body. In any example, the left gun must be more sharply outlines on the left, to seperate it more from the rocks. Right now there's sort of an ambient diffused lighting on everything. Kick the lighting up a notch and you'll be doing even better. Nice image!

Yep, it's supposed to be night-time. Thanks for setting me straight on the lighting there Anthony. I'm working on contrasting it a bit more right now, but I'm trying not to lose too much to "really dark".
Other than that, anyone got any crits on color? Seems kinda mono-chromatic to me... but I dunno. |

actually, both guns are going off - and it IS a mech so we have the whole targeting system thinng working for us. I just haven't gotten around to muzzle flash for the other weapon yet.
Think Neo storming the feds in the matrix. |

Ok, I haven't had any time to work on this since my last post. Luckily tongight I was able to spare about an hour to work on the lighting. So far all I've really managed to do is spread yellow goop all over the place. I think I have the shadows dark enough in most places.
Need input and advice here.
Here's the updated version -
My apologies to those of you on dial-up - this IS the small version. |
