I know that artists are ususlly sick and demented. You know they like to cut off ther ear and lock themselves away. Michaelangelo stayed sulibent his whole life and Picaso liked to eat paint out of the tube.
So I mentioned this to one of my freinds who is an artist and he told me that he likes to stick his Zip drive up his wazu so he can feel like a true nuvo artist.
Have anyone of you tried this or anything speciel to feel like a true artist.

Dali ate his wife. I thought that was pretty cool.

Once I painted with my bare fingers. I thought it was disgusting as hell.

Dali, being the obscure fellow that he was, ate his wife's dead body. I think it was something along the lines of not wanting to part with her, or the final trasition of love. One of them had to die so that they could be one complete entity together in the end.

Dali and most artists of his time were goddamn freaks... doing retarded things such as that. They should have burned THEM at the stake... (I *HATE* artists who just defy everything for the sake of being original -- or retarded in this case).

Me:

1.I work in the nude.
4.After I bite off a fingernail I tend to chew for a while and swallow it.
5.Would eat my wife if I had one...seems like a good idea. I see no problem.
9.I like to hug homless people and fondle their genitals...well not really.
2.I like painting with my feet, it feels really cool.
55.I dont want to get into how this one came about...but, I like having someone sit on my shoulders when i draw. preferablly a 130lb+ person.

My ex:

1.Paints with her own blood
6.Blood must be fresh squeezed or else it isnt good
2.covers herself in paint and lays on the patio...
8.Wanted me to eat her heart when she died and be cast in gold with her. apparently, her grandfather ate her grandmothers heart when she died....family activity I guess.

I saw a girl paint with her asshole before....IE: Stick tube in, squeeze, take out, Splurt paint at canvas.

A True Artist: Launching his withered dying body off a building, so that it may "splat" on the giant canvas below. This piece would be his last composition...ofcourse. This is my plan when I turn 80, so get your own damn plan.

When I'm bored I paint with my Paintball gun on rocks, trees, cars, my dog and people I dislike's house (But not on people I hate's house they get things painted on their house with my poo

Not to be rude or anything, but this is kinda an odd topic. There is no such thing as a true artist. And artist can be anyone who draws. And no, artist don't need to shuv anything up there wazoo to be counted as an artist of any kind. All you need to do is try your best at art, there's no right "answer" when it comes to art.

Frost, I don't understand your anti-artist thing at all. Were you abused by "artists" as a child?

I think some people look for uncharted water because it will lead them to fame. Ok, fuck them. However, some people do strange things because thier personal thought process has brought them there. When doing something that's been done before- all those past works influence the decisions you make. Some people enjoy doing something that provides a freer space to create in. Where thier mind is working by there own rules.

Also, art is commonly seen as a conversation, if you're saying something that's been said before it's redundant.

IMO there is a lot of important questions raised by avant gaurd art. To ignore them is to really limit yourself.

Hey, fine. If some of you want to eat your own excrements, bury yourselves head-first at the beach, eat the contents of your cat's litter box, travel across all cities of Europe that start with the letter 'G' in inverse alphabetical order, which by drawing lines on a map would form the outline of a headless chicken riding a saddled monkey atop a carousel, and if all that makes you feel good about yourself, by all means go about it. Just don't expect me (or others) to respect and admire you for doing it. Personally, I don't want to hear about people eating their dead spouses. Which is more disturbed: the fact that I find it sick that a human being would do that, or the fact that those people would actually do it because of some need to beleive in something grander than the nothingness that we are?

Now that I have successfully turned everyone in this forum against me, I'll end this post.

Blakk, I'm a artist but I don't know if I am in the true sense that you speak of. I've never tried cannibalism or cutting off my ear or anything like that.
Is there something that I can try to work up to that or should I just give up trying to be true.

Shadowman why don't you try beeting a dog in front of your neibors or maybe you can cut your toe nails real short so you can be ingrown that should make you feel better about your self!
