First about myself:
Just a 15 yeard old trying to start off in graphic design and the such. Blah blah, ok, here's a quick thing i made in school a few days ago that I wanted to clean up and color, but I'm not too good with coloring, so I was wondering if anyone could crit it, and maybe even color it to see how it would look. Thanks

welcome prolix..
very good drawing, especially at your age. like the expression on her face, and her right left arm is nicely done holding the sword.
the only crit so far, is her pelvis, you gotta give the girl bigger bud, with more accent on the shape of her thighs (!?!).
but overall , well done |

Hey ... Don't let it get you down . I like the concept, the pose, and her eyes, but you could use some work on your anatomy and form. Learn some of the major muscle groups from an anatomy book and study people in real life i.e. life drawing, to see more in terms of form and shape. Right know everything is much too bubbly, for lack of a better word. Neither the skeletal structure or muscles are defined, making it appear 'blobish'. The character appears very flat. It isn't easy trying to convey a 3D form on a 2D surface, but one thing to remember is that everything has perspective, and therefore when drawing try to visualize the entire subject ... Not just the surface. For example, when drawing a spherical shape, drawing the centre line along the surface not only from the front, but an imaginary line in the rear can help you visualize the form. Of course, it can get a lot more complicated then that.
Anyway, I'm no expert ... but I tried Good Luck

Prolix, you are way better than I was at 15 (I'm almost twice your age now and I still suck, but that's not the point).
Great boots, I love them! I love the detail work you are putting into her armour and on the knee part.
The hair is nicely highlighted and not overly drawn out strand by strand like most starting artists tend to do.
The one thing you need is work on is that pelvis area as mentioned above. That would add a lot to the definition of the subject. also I would really 'wrap' that thong between the legs if you know what I mean? Really pull it between there, it looks flat right now. Also as mentioned above a little definition of musculature.

I took a shot at coloring it. I'm not the best at coloring however and am learning myself.

Hey there Prolix,
Welcome aboard.
I must say that for your age you are really quite good at drawing.
This peice of work is really nicce.. but I have a couple little things to say.
first of all, I really like the upper body tilt.. It really makes the sword look heavy... but.. she looks like shes going to fall over. she should have her one leg out to balance the weight more.
and her face seems a bit squished.. but thats only my opinion.
for your age you are doing very well and Im willing to bet you could end up in the comic book feild in a few years.. keep it up man!!
