I just don't like this too much. Anyone have any ideas of what I can do to fix it up a bit? I really could use some help with the eyes I think. I didn't use any reference materials, I didn't want the picture to have "normal" proportions.

Why is it, when an artist is amazing, and doesn't need any feedback, everyone replies about how great their work is. When a piss poor artist like myself posts, no one has anything to say at all. I thought the point of the discussions was for us to help each other get better, not to kiss everyone's ass who is already great.

caus maybe the pisspoor artists don't feel that they're good enough to give constructive critisism to other pisspoor artists?
meanwhile you don't have to be a pissgood artist to know what you like and what you think looks good, therefor everybody can reply to a really pissgood artists posts saying that they like it.
Might be anyhow, but what do I know |

You don't need to be a good artist to know what you don't like and what you don't think looks good.
I think people just don't want anyone to think they are cocky or rude. That doesn't help anyone. It's not that hard to politely correct someone's mistakes or just give an unfavorable opinion in a respectful manner. Artists really need to be thick skinned anyway, because no matter what they do, someone is going to think their work is horrible. |

By the way, my apologies for saying that there are some piss poor artists in the forums. I don't believe that at all. I really should have given a bit more thought to my post before making myself sound like a fool. |

This picture looks finished too me. I wouldn't be able to give you good advice on how to improve it. Good choice of colors.
If you don't like this one, maybe you should do some really quick proportion sketches of a new one... try to find a balance of shapes that pleases you, then fill in the details.
This picture was done in Painter, right?

Good tips, thanks.
Yeah, I used Painter. It's all I use for drawing anymore. I still enjoy creating photomontages in photoshop and I do all my design work with a combination of Freehand and Photoshop. |
