Hey all, I would like to know a few things if possible.
First off, I would like you to compare my old layout with my new layout, and tell me which one you like better, and why. I haven't optimized graphics yet, and the links are just examples so no need to pick on those things.
All I care about is a comparison of the two and what you like or dislike about each one.
Old:

New:

(I tried really hard to get away from the black bg, successful, i dont know)
My next question is, the top image on my new layout has 2 parallel black lines that extend left -> right. What I wanted to do was have those lines continue 100% to the end of the browser window.
I have another image that is just those 2 black parallel lines, do I just make a table and put it to width 100% with that image as the table bg? It's the one thing ive been confused about. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the replies. I do like both designs, but I wanted to try and go with a more professional clean looking design, so I went with a white background this time.
I know the load time may be a bit on the older one, I just pulled it off a backup cd, and hadn't optimized it, but it is an easy thing to fix.
Plouffe: Thanks, I do like the white bg more from a professional standpoint or for a portfolio so I think i'll go with it.
Bj: I like your site, but the only thing I have a problem with is the links on the main image are in white text. It is very hard to read on my screen, I don't know about others but it would be great if it were darker to give the link names more contrast.
Any more replies would be welcome. I would like to hear some more opinions if possible.
Thanks

I like the new one better.. except the distance from the title to the text is waaaay to far.. you should bring the body of it up a ways....

Awetopsy: Thanks, I had thought about it before, but it must have slipped my mind. I have my desktop resolution at 1600x1200, so I tend to forget the scale of things every now and then.
I messed with it a bit, and reduced it. It should be better. Thanks again
Here is the image below, reduced size this time.
(Although not optimized yet)
Thanks for the comments, appreciate it. Any more are welcome.
