Yeah, how's the pay? You know art is the only thing that I know and my future is depended on it. But I would like to know the truth. What is it like being an artist? Do you need to be a head animator at Disney to be really successful?
Are you poor? Yeah you are poor aren't ya

I doubt you'll find someone telling you their current salary...
But after a couple of years it becomes ok I guess - you won't starve if you're doing well ...

My salary is great. I'm doing extremely well I think.
[edit: Nevermind, I just remembered that I don't have a job.]

What's wrong in telling people their salaries? I have to tell people it everyday, high schoolers, kids, cause of their job trips (trips to jobs that interest them). Pay is one of the first questions that come up |

My Gay Uncle John Fitzgerald: $50,000 a book cover. He makes as many as he wants a month, but usually only does 1-3 due to the fact he is low maitinence.
Mari: $460 a painting. not a whole lot, but enough for her, who just buys more black clothing.
My old Art Teacher: So much he decided to just up and leave in his new jet one day. fucker, gave me a D.
And on that note, Me: Nothing really. Couple hundred here and there for misc jobs that companys associated with my mothers company give me, such as logos and brochures. but visual arts arent my trade that i wish to follow...they come in second.
anyways...theres a sex scene on tv and the girl look like my sister in law. bye. |

Being an artist as so much fun and it is such a joy and a wonderful gift from God. All you have to do is, well, draw, to calm the name "artist" and it dosen't even half to be good! And no, you don't need to be the head animator at Disney or something to be succseful. I've seen alot of artist that arn't famous or even have goten there art work published, but still, every one loves them! They are CRAZY about there work, and to me, that is consided successful. But if your talking in money wise, then ya, to be succesful in getting money you'd sure get it if you where the head animation person at Disney. And also, no, there are a good many artist out there who are not poor, but not rich eithor. (though some are.) those artist have nice and happy normal lives. |

In my opinion, it's all relative. No matter what you do, if you're good, the pay will follow.
Then again, I'm pretty good at following my dogs around with a shovel and the pay...? |
