After the watch, here comes the enlightened ruler of Ankh-Morpork...
It seems, I can't find a satisfying design for the puppet,
and I have no idea how the controlling device is supposed to look like.
I'll to have search some references but if you guys have some idea or crits, you're welcome...

Man, those are so great! How you sketch? Chork? And I like the puppet. But I think it should hang on a cross... i mean all puppets hang on crosses...

uhmm... since my answer is so simple I suggest that I didn't get the point of the wuestion

I think I leave that answering to somebody else...

Anyways... my appreciation.

Actually there are finger puppeteers because it is much easier to control that way. The ones they sell on crosses are .. like for kids. anyawy, may want to knot the string on the fingers. (every other finger can just have a line) Maybe just one to suggest it's attached to something besidse the fingertips. But haha, looks great! I think it would be rather funny if the small puppet had the same posture and look as the guy and facing towards him.

I can't come up with any good background. So since I'm not the patient kind of guy, I just started to color it anyway.
With each picture i'm trying a new coloring method. This forum is a huge source of inspiration in term of content and techniques and that is COOL

I tried to tie the puppet directly to his fingers but it's definitely better with the cross.

EviLToylet : your idea for the puppet is indeed a good one but it doesn't really fit with the scene I had in mind. thx though.

I need an opinion on this one.
I added a shadow casted by the hand on his face but I'm not sure i did it correctly... Is it too big, to dark...?
Something bothering me but i can't point it

Is it me or does it almost look like his arm is somehow attached to his forehead? The composition is very planar and that confused me at first.

`What sort of people live about here?' asked Alice.

`In that direction,' the Cat said, waving its right paw round, `lives a Hatter: and in that direction,' waving the other paw, `lives a March Hare. Visit either you like: they're both mad.'

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad...'

I would just ditch the cross and have the strings tied to his fingers or attached to rings on his fingers.

I liked the very first one better.. with the absence for a background (your subject is strong enough, no need to empahasize anything), with the strings kinda floating there. If i were to change anything, i'd say use the modified pose of the string dealy on the second pic.
