Heya Tweeder, the image is cool and coming along nicely (although I have no idea who that is). The main thing that struck me with the image was that it was a bit flat, you range of shades isn't great. Try to make the dark sections really dark and have some light sections. Then use everything in between. If you can pull this off, your images will look so much better. Also, as much as I hate the things, try to use a ruler for straight lines in the background area. It doesn't sound like much but you'd be amazed how much better an image will look with straight lines.

Matt: thanks .. I'm just recently learning how to shade better .. I've never really bothered to try to learn before .. funny considering most of my drawing is with pencil. I'm slowly learning different techniques .. the way I do it now is just make little light or dark lines and then smear then with either my smear stick thingie or my finger, but that leaves lines sometimes. Any other techniques I should try?
Heh, I'm finding it kind of funny that I'm asking a question about something as simple as pencil shading on a digital art forum
