ive noticed a trend that most fourms are dying. i think this one will stick around, but only due to the hardcore fans. whats really lame about fourms is that they seem to have a "clique" which i for one think is extremely pointless. (note: this fourm is generally better than most, as i havent noticed much discrimmination). well...is this true? are they dying? is it just me?

It's so easy to be a raving, pompous, egotist, snobby fat man (who happens to drink tea) on forums, you have this wall of anonymity that makes you feel safe to act however you like. That may explain some of the cliques you've been seeing.

Interesting topic. I think people just expect something for nothing. I know recently when I've put stuff up, I think across about 6 posts I got 1 response. I try to write valuable crits and make suggestions and take the time to do so. Yet to get a response like that, doesn't inspire.

nah. Ian is just oblivious.

Seriously though, this is an art forum, which gets plenty pictures posted every day. Digital art discussion might not be in top shape, but it's about posting pictures baby.

they arent dying. they are becoming slow because of people having exams....or those that have finished schools are going out to find jobs..
another thing to note is that the weather is getting noticably warmer...so people are going out more often.

The members make the forum As corny as it can possibly sound--A better forum starts with yooouuu~~ Obviously posting meaningful replies and giving critiques when and where you can is a start.

As for 'are the forums dying?', larger forum, more image posts. I find it hard enough to keep up with all the posts, let alone taking the time to reply. Also the overall quality level of the artwork is a little lower than the norm...I think the situation could improve if people only posted finished artwork in the 'FINISHED ARTWORK' section, which they were truly proud of and were seriously interested in receiving peoples crits and comments, instead of these cheesy, half finished sketches that they feel they have to make excuses for like: 'this isn't my best work...' or 'I could've done better.' or 'I know I suck'<--If you don't like you work, then why post it? (I'll admit I have been guilty of this ) As for the works in progress...THERE IS NO PROGRESS. Only a small percentage of the images from the works in progress have actually made it to the finished section. One of the most fudged up things I've ever read was one post where someone got a critique on how to improve the work in the work in progress thread and the guy responded that he was finished with the image, but he would use what he learned on his critique in his next image. And here I've been all this time thinking that threads in the work in progress section are meant for work in progess...How stupid of me . Anyway, I'll shut up now

Is the forum dying? Yes, but with a little CPR this place could make a full recovery
