This started off as just a sketch and I added some more stuff from there. I don't tend to do many pics like this and so you can probably see why.

I wondered whether any of the anatomy people could give me some crits and advice.

I still haven't been to any life drawing classes yet and I don't have any books on the subject so any recommendations on good anatomy books would be appreciated as well.

it is looking nice. i really like the lighting comming from the gun reflecting on him. can't say i find any problems. maybe a cool background?

There doesn't seem to be anything hugely wrong with the anatomy. The muscles are a bit funny looking, mostly on the legs. The forearm on the trigger looks a tad short.

Drawing Dynamic Anatomy or whatever by Hogarth seems alright. Although you gotta watch out because if you follow it too closely, everything you draw looks like rubber, or molded plastic.

From a purely "mechanic" point of view:
The ejected shells still have the projectiles in them. They look as if they havn't been fired.

His knees might look a bit better bent more. He might fall over the way he is.
