I was just at the iCE site and read something about OpenCanvas. So I went to the OpenCanvas website and wanted to check out the functions before downloading it, but it's in Japanese. Does anyone run this program or know of it? I'd like some info on it.
I still use Painter Classic and it'd be nice to be able to get a program with Layers (and don't suggest Corel Photopaint or Photoshop - I can't afford them at the moment).
Or does anyone have any other suggestions for software that allows different brushes and has pressure control with the tablet. |

This site is English. http://www.portalgraphics.net
I haven't used OC much before, but the brush is really nice, you can achieve good lines even without using a pressure-sensitive tablet.
another program with similiar functionality as Photoshop is Jasc paintshop pro. www.jasc.com it was shareware last time i checked. |

What about PhotoImpact from http://www.ulead.com
it's almost equal to photoshop exept it costs about $80 from the official website.
I have version 7 and I don't like the brush engine but version 8 might be better. |

There is another Photoshop clone that's called Pixel 32. It costs only $32 and it can be found at the following url:
