Oh yeah, that would be so evolutionary... oh, wait, no, it's actually a piece of boring jackshit, pardon me.

(Buy yourself a scanner, dammit.)

It kinda hurts at first, but it gets better with time and depth.

Looks cool.. I read about this pen in Wired when it was still in development... It does require special paper for it to work.. The technology behind its "remembering" your pen paths is really quite amazing, if you're into all that technical shtuff.

Flat... Umm.. did someone piss in your cornflakes this morning? Your opinion is fine.. but the scanner bit... You're kind of missing the point. Maybe you should let your words sit in your head for a bit before you let the shit flow from your fingers and on to our screens.

Cheers!

wel ther idea is cool enough the only thing that bothers me is this "Take up to 40 pages of handwritten notes in between synchronization and save an exact record on your PC. "

40 pages of text?
this could be 1 sketch heeheh
i am not sure how this would relate to artists anyone have any ideas?
it would bew really sweet if they applied the idea to artists and made something that could handle allot say 4 hours of pen strokes.or 4 hours of continuous writing.

The pen probably memorizes shapes, not specifically letters. On the web site there was a picture of a guy sitting in front of his computer with a notbook in front of him, and the notebook had some writing and a graph on it; the same picture was on the computer screen. You could draw and it probably would be uploaded onto your computer as a drawing. The only thing you'd have to do is convert the file to a picture file to edit it.

Yes, this one need special paper, but there are similair pen-devices that use two (external) receivers to calculate its position. At work, stuff you draw on a whiteboard can be saved.
I guess it would be possible to measure the acceleration forces on a pen to keep track of its position (and btw, dump that gps you bought :-), eliminating the need for special paper/receivers.
Reading the surface like optical mice won't work since the pen will lose track of its world whenever you lift it too high.

...end of 'yeahrightwhatever', move on...
