I have been drawing for awhile and I am really interested in getting a Wacom tablet for using with Photoshop and I was wondering what kind to get, but I have really minimal knowledge of tablets so:
I usually draw with my wrist, so I'm thinking a 6x8 size (?)
I draw manga... I also like to do a lot of more US comic book stuff, like spawn, for one. (If that makes any difference.)
I am fairly proficient, but I'm not pro, so I am thinking that a lower cost tablet (graphire) might be more appropriate.
Also, how is using one of these? I have never really seen one, let alone try one out...
Thanks for any help I might get! |

It would be better to try one out (at a store, or if someone you know has it) but i'm sure 6x8 will be fine for 85% of people. 4x5 Graphire might be ok too.
But if you dont have piles of money i suggest you buy a Intuos 1 (not 2) USB (not serial) because there isn't much improvement in 2 over 1 other than a higher price tag. Do tell if i'm wrong. |

i got a intuos2 for 400 bucks at ebay.
But instead of the 2 with 9x12 i got a 1 with 12x12.
I am sending it back but i think 9x12 should be maximum.
whats the main difference between usb or serial.is usb more accurate? dont think so |

No, i said USB and not Serial, because Serial is a dying out breed kinda like ISA slots (did i even spell it right? i forgot how those ancient things were called lol).
You wount find a Serial port on some newer motherboards, so it's obvious to buy USB. |

The 12 X 12 tablet always struck me as weird...who has a square monitor? No way can the surface map accurately to the monitor, unless there are areas at the top and/or bottom that you simply can't use. What's the point? |
