Well I dont understand why every fantasy artist makes the ear streched or abnormal ?
(Why only ear )??

I think you are probably referring to elves, who are a common subject of fantasy paintings. They have pointy ears, are considered incredibly wise and noble... something I think ppl are intrigued by. Lord of the rings has a few elven characters in it I think.
