Hi,
There is no real way to judge colors on a computer. A change in program,or monitor will
normally make percieved colors change, unless of
course you use a calibrated monitor with a set color profile and a constant(temp.)light source.
Short answer: No. |

Not sure if this is helpfull or not but when we were learning about illustrator in class our teacher who works in print making was telling us about pantone colors, and how different shades dont show up in other programs as well as when you print them, but you can get pantone guides out there that give you not only different paper weights and what the inks display like on them but also correct codes for getting the exact colors you want. I dont know if this would help you at all but I figured I might as well share it with you. |

Ooops I forgot to add that Nautilus is correct about when it comes to monitors, I had at one time worked for a photographer doing photo editing and the photographer was always wondering why the colors printed out differently on paper than it showed on the monitor, well of course it didnt help that he was using cheap KDS monitors ( shudder). Also I think that different programs use different color values so that could have an effect as well. |

a friend of mine was having a smiliar problem....we determined it is due to the proof setup
go to View->Proof Setup-> and change it to Monitor RGB i think that should do the trick for you...give that a try and if it doesn't work, try the other settings in there. Good Luck |

ZippZopp is correct. Photoshop 6 and 7 display colors strangely for me too until I do this.
In Photoshop 5.5 I have to go the color config and disable "Monitor compensation".
So no, you are not crazy and you do not have to deal with it. |
