I just wanted to say I've been really disappointed with a new computer that I bought last year (acer aspire). It didn't have anything near what the salesman told me it had and stupid me took his word for it. Never again, I do know better. Next time I'll build my own.
However, I've had a ripper of a day today and I have to share it. I bought a new graphics card through ebay and it turned up today. Because the computer salesman was dodgy he failed to inform me that the system only had pci slots and no agp slot for a graphics card. The video is handled on the mother board and I feared that because the motherboard is an el cheapo SIS piece of crap i would have to upgrade the whole kit and kaboodle. Not so. I've whacked in the new card and it is running like a demon. Not only that but the SIS board allows you to have a monitor plugged into the motherboard as well as the new graphics card. So I'm as happy as a pig in poop. Not only that when I bought the bloody system it had to have a DVD player but wouldn't you know it, the very first time the system crashed and I had no other choice but to reformat the stupid thing I could never get the DVD player to work again. Well guess what, she bloody works again thanks to the new graphics card.
I feel so triumphant today. 90% of the time I have nothing but bad luck and grief with computers so that's why I'm sharing my day.
Now to sit back and watch my new fellowship if the ring DVD, paint in photoshop with two monitors and surf porn in stereo.
