hmm either im imaging things or my eyedropper in photoshop somehow turned to different settings.
i remember that the eyedropper fills the FOREGROUND color and when you move it over the image, the color on the toolbar changes...that what i remembered it functioned like, correct me if im wrong.
but now...whenever i slect a color, not only does it not show the color...it puts the color on the BACKGROUND color. is there anyway to change it back to original, its very frustrating now...i have to 'x' to get the dropper color. thanks |

Pure user error ...
Programs do usually not 'break' like this. Especially a static executable like PS.
You're probably pressing "Alt" while having the eyedropper selectede - that puts the color in the bg slot.
When you're using e.g. the airbrush, holding alt will bring up the picker and put it in the FG slot ... |

well a real easy way to fix this is just re-install the whole program that way it erases anything bad you might have done |

Wow how about strange.... I had this problem last week..... Just go to the small colorwindow(like options window) where you can edit your color... (Not the toolbox) and you have propably have selected the background color(small box surrounding it) instead of the foreground...... Otherwise look at www.adobe.com and go to the photoshop-windowsforum.... There you'll see how someone helped me.... |

rush: cool. since that one hasn't been mentioned in a while and it's one of the coolest ever, IMHO, (courtesy of Mr.Spooge):
To change the border color in full screen mode (with commandline on) from the grey to anything alse, pick a color you like, select the paintbucket tool and SHIFT-click into the border, which will now miraculously change to the color you selected.
Wheeeee!

Pressing alt will eyedrop for the foreground when using paintbrush or pencil tool..etc.
Pressing alt when you already have eyedropper tool selected will send the color to the bg color.
You're most likely pressing alt... |
