sorry, but my forte lies in sketching (when i say forte, it doesn't mean i'm good at drawing, just in english)
so you can imagine my frustration when i started painting(electronically) i tried three basic things, the sky, the ocean, and the tress.
this may shock you, but they came out terribly.....THEY ALL SUCK!!!! (DRATS, no crying icon....)
anyway, i hope someone can tell me how to paint some of the fore mentioned stuff..especially the "glass or crystal effect", the wood texture (as in trees) and other stuff....much obliged
oh, if it'll help, i'll show one of my paintings, i got the idea of someone on the net, so please to sue me .....when i figure out how to post a picture (did i mention i'm 86% computer illiterate

If no one else points out to me where this is against the rules.
Why not create a picture of what you wish to learn, an landscape as you descibe should be perfect, and post a thread in the work in progress forum. Continue to post more as you modify that picture and improve upon it as per other's suggestions. Perhaps some will paintover it and show you how to touch it up.
If nothing else, seeing how the picture evolves could help yourself and others learn how to display the images in their head down onto the paper. |
