The feature films generally have more frames per second, and contains more detail in the overall artwork. The camera work is also more advanced--with more sense of depth and more layers of background. Another difference is the the feature films tend to be more mature in theme than the TV series(this however, does not apply to OAV's, since OAV's can be PG , R, or X, depending on the title). |

eh? Really?
Standard Film = 24 fps
TV Standard = 29.97 fps
If anime is more that's odd.
The animation size is the same for film or for TV, they use standard 12 or 16 field animation paper. There are action safe guides and title safe guides you work in to make sure you are not going over the edges where you may lose something off screen for TV viewers.
I got a nifty reticule built into my light box.. It's been useful to remind me to not go to high on the animation paper, don't want to film the pegbars! ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

Deckard: That's the TV raster refresh rate, not necessarily the speed at which transmission is done, given that the transmission could be recorded off another format. |

The process is the same except for the amount of time and energy involved in the drawings.
Movies have teams and teams of individuals handling different aspects of the movie with time and money behind them.
TV is usually quicker paced and less quality in the detail of the characters and backgrounds, etc because it takes longer to create the same level of detail. Not that it's better or worse either way just you have several weeks to create a 22 minute show, versus months to years to create a 1.5 hour movie. |

Dekard- frames per second meaning DRAWINGS per second. Anime TV shows generally have a lot fewer drawings per second.
More layer means layers of background painted on glass, or cell. In anime TV shows, you generally woudn't see more than 2 layers of background moving at different speeds(for example, a desert in the back layer, while a row of trees in the front layer). In feature films, you could see up to 4 or 5 layers of background in an elaborate shot. |
