Years ago, I bought a cast of a head where one side is detailed with muscles, while the other is broken into facets to accentuate the lighting. I've found it useful for plotting lighting when I'm not working from life or a photo. Also have a third-scale figure with exposed muscles; also useful. |

I think a model of a skull would be more useful. |

Pardon me for laughing. Just buy a cast. Much better. |

yeah, i'm sure something specifically designed for art would be better. but having worked as a minimum wage employee, i know just how little most of those people care, so i'm thinking i might be able to get one pretty easily. |

Steal/buy a shovel instead, that way you could dig up perfectly good models from 6 feet under ...
Just like, umm DaVinci did ... heheh ...

i have two foam heads sitting on my shelf at home. one's named sophie, the other's named venus. i found sophie at a garage sale, where i bought her head for 60 cents. as i was walking around a deserted trailer park one day, somebody apparently left their foam head behind, that became venus
..or, if you want, i'd think wig stores maybe have spare or old heads they don't want anymore. they're good for pencil holders anyway. |

I needed one of those Mannequin heads for a school assigment 2 years ago. I decided to go to hmm Eatons i think and well i was kicked out by the employes for asking if i could have or buy one of the mannequin heads... They had a shit load in the corner of the store and most of them were broken and you could clearly see they would never use again..
Anyways becarefull hehe |

just a head's probably better because it's easier to walk out with. besides, those full mannequins scare the crap out of me. |
