...I'm just wondering where is the "new view" command from the view menu? It has been there in ps6.
And I can't understand why the lines are lagging so badly if I'm doing them with fast strokes even if I've turned off all unneccessary options of the brush dynamics.
Oh, my darling ps6! I'm starting to miss you so much!

dude, it's still there... just in a different guise... with the new brush engine the airbrush has become a subset of the regular brush tool... |

To remove stroke lag time when you're using wide brushes you might want to uncheck "Smoothing"/"Texture"/"Dual Brush" in the brushes palette. Just experiment... it's great fun in PS7! It's made me stay off Painter for weeks now. |

Thank you for your help guys!
Sometimes Lagging just stops mysteriously when I restart computer. :/
New brush options are pretty cool, tho. |

Tepox the lagging you are seeing is probably due to memory errors... If you are on a mac you might want to try messing with your memory allocation for the program.
The reason why I am thinking that is because you said the problem goes away after reboot. I see this type of thing a lot in class where some bozo set his memory way to high or to low and is running 8 things at once. even after you shut everything down everything still runs slow, so you have to reboot. Its generally reffered to as a memory leak in some cases if it happens to be a bug in the program, but like I said check your memory settings and see if playing with that helps.
If you are on a PC then I would have to know what version of windows you were using and how you handle your virtual memory.
Of course wether its Mac or PC it always helps to have an abundance of ram a good proccesor and a great video card

LoTekK : I know that but I don't have the same control over it. Maybe it was the way I was working. *shrug*
About brush lag : I have a fairly good setup now and the brushes lag so much in ps7 even with smoothing and mostly everything OFF with my brushes.. This is mainly why I prefer ps6 (and 5) over ps7. I make my own brushes and think it's a heck of a lot of ffancy stuff that takes WAY too much resoures. That's just my 2 c |

Chaz: I'm using PC, but I haven't faced any lagging problems lately... pretty odd. But much better this way!
I don't miss PS6 that much anymore. I just don't like how the line tool works now: have to hold shift down if you're going to make lines to same layer. |
