after a couple weeks' worth of drooling over ps7's new brush engine, i finally got the program... and was rather delighted with it, though i'm having the same love-hate relationship with it that many are experiencing... there's been enough grief over that in these forums, though, that i won't go over them... this is basically about the new "smoothing" option that adobe (finally!) added to photoshop...
now, everyone knows that this finally allows one to draw nice smooth curves with quick strokes, without getting the stupid corners of previous versions... ever noticed a problem with straight line scribbles, though? here's what i'm talking about:
first, a quick scribble with smoothing off... notice the somewhat visible corners:
however, notice what happens with smoothing on... ps7 seems to be getting tricked into trying to smooth out parts that shouldn't be smoothed:
this may not be life-changing, but i figured it might be worth a mention... something to address in a possible patch, maybe? among other, more nagging things, of course... |

i also noticed something about the smudge tool. i really love the one ps6 when you turn off the spacing, but when i try doing the same thing in 7 its different, its somehow missing something. very very dissapointed at that. i really liked the ps6 smudge tool |
