Can someone tell me what's the ideal type of pens and paper to use for comic inking. I use Stabilo marker on xerox paper but it bleeds. |

the best paper and pens are naturally the ones that are meant for comics. for example at http://www.howtodrawmanga.com/ they sell manga paper and pens. manga paper is smoother, and absorbs inks faster than normal paper, without bleeding. it also provides rulers on the paper edges to help.
and as for pens, if you're experienced, dip pens are the best solution. You don't have to buy them from the url I pasted, I think you can find dip inkers in most art stores. Also some artist use a fine brush for inking comics. then there are inkers with cartridges of ink in them.
Whatever you choose, try to get smooth paper, work from one direction to another so you don't smudge the ink. Don't use markers for inking, as they provide a constant width line, which makes the drawing look dull (like out of a children's colouring book).
There are other ways too I'm sure, these are just the ones that come into my mind at the moment. hope they prove useful. |

You should get some type of Bristol, with vellum. Its a finish that makes it Smoooth. get it in the size of11 by 14. Thats what the pros use anyways. For pens I suggest Micron. They also make different widths. Good luck,
