Hi guys, just wanted to introduce myself...been looking at this site for some time now, just never bothered posting anything until now..I'll start by saying I'm currently a Product Design major at Art Center in Pasadena interested in the entertainment track...I've become more and more interested in using painter 7, and was wondering whether there are any good books, sites or demos with tutorials for beginners...any help will be greatly appreciated, and as usual, keep up the good work!! ![](images/smiles/icon_cool.gif) |

Artcenter! Wheeeeeee! I wish I could've gone there ...!
Well, welcome here at Sijun. The best way to get into things is probably to hang around here and check out what people are posting. There's always a lot of interesting stuff going down.
You might even (shameless plug) wanna check out my site since I wrote a little bit about the basics of digital painting (link below in signature).
For ultimate motivation, I suggest you visit another artcenter graduate www.goodbrush.com - this should make you wanna paint day and night ...
Welcome again!
Cheers

It's always a good idea to keep an eye in the works in progress section...sometimes people will post detailed progressive pictures of their work...Lunatique's nude1 tutorial is a good example. He used painter by the way ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Well, I went to Otis about *mumblemumble* years ago. Is there still that heated rivalry going on between Art Center and Otis?
Welcome to the boards! ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Seems like the rivalry at Art Center is between Cal Arts for illustration, Otis for fine arts and CCS (detroit) for transportation/industrial design....oh well... ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |
