I'm looking for high quality galleries of famous artist especially Sargent and Hals.
I know of CFGA. But are there any others? The pictures need to be large and hopefully have the most accurate color reproductions to the originals possible.
Ive seen reproductions in books and scans and many times the coloring is completely different in the various ones.
Ok.. does anyone know of some high quality Sargent and Hals galleries? (other top artist welcome)
Also, I'm looking for top notch super high quality realistic figure drawing galleries.
Pref large sizes ie. 800x600 or bigger. |

That's a nice collection of paintings at artrenewal.org, but the tirade against modernism seems just silly. Actually I thought at first that it was a joke, something like the (very well made) mock fundamentalist christian site that eloquently reasoned why Macs are the tool of the devil
Well, I guess if you're just that kind of person, it doesn't make much difference whether it's Darwin or Picasso you choose to hate...

Yea, I just look at their pictures. I don't read their words. They are art-nazis. :P |

If you can, go see Sargent's work in person. After you've done that, no printed reproduction in the world will ever interest you again.
I flew to Seattle last year to see a Sargent show, and it was one of the most powerful and moving highlights in my artistic existence. |

Yeah, we have a Seargent painting here in Dallas at the DMA. It's certainly one of my favorite pieces there. But I would still prefere a good quality print simply because I'm too lazy to go to the DMA everyday to look at it |
