Is it just me and my graphire, or can't Photoshop handle smooth size and opacity changes? All I get is random sized dots (or whatever shape of brush I happen to be using) in various opacity modes. Am I missing something in the settings or do everyone have this problem ? Weird nonetheless.

PeZ & has a real hate - love relationship with the new brush system.

Yes, that's what 'jitter' means, random, the opposite to smooth. You want 0% jitter for a smooth line.

I agree, that is one of the more annoying properties of Pshop. On the bright side if you adjust all of your brushes to how you like them and then save your brush pallete, they will stay that way

doesn't help much for when you want change settings and brushes on the fly though

haha@Razor1911

they didn't release it...cat did the rip and fooziso made the iso respectively

I agree...I hate the way PS 7 changes the brush back to default each time you select a different one..hopefully this will be fixed in a soon-to-be future patch...we can all dream until that time

to solve this problem, change the Flow and Opacity Jitter to 0%

Btw, i have a problem too, every time i change to a different brush, PS7 automatictly set my brush dynamic setting to Factory's default. Anybody how how to apply the brush dynamic setting to all the brushes at once?

ha! Thanks

kind of weird now is it ... thinking logically, one would assume setting the bars on 100% would mean the option affects the most ... diversed, kind of :\

but fixed now

a file browser (finally), where you can see ALL the thumbnails, and a whole new brush system where you can make the brushes act painter style, e. g. rotate and have textures and all that.

also a bit faster (least on my system) and smoother. the change from 5 to 7 is noticeable, but if you have used 5.5 and 6 aswell the changes aren't that drastic.

I'm not much for 7, mainly because of that brush setting problem. Plus I've messed with settings for at least 20 minutes, and I still can't get my Intuos to flow smoothly with the opacity like 5.5 does.

Also when painting a small screen sized pic there was lag for me, so in my situation 5.5 is smoother for me than 7. I can only imagine what high res painting would be like.

Bang: get PS 4.0. it's the best i would use that if not for the jitter control in v7. there's nothing better than making random mess very fast. NOTHING !

I just fiddled around with PS 7 for a couple of hours, and damn, they added a lot of new shiznazz to it. It's starting to feel a lot like Painter, and that's what I've wished for all this time.

Gotta play with it some more to decide if it truely lives up to my expectations though.

Goddamit, I've decided that I don't like PS7. All the new brush stuff are fairly useless. Or at least for the kind of painting I do, they are fairly useless. I had HOPED they improved the blending tools with the new brush engine, but it's the same piece of shit that drove me to go and try Painter and Photopaint. And where the FUCK did the settings for opacity and brush size go??? It won't recognize pressure sensitivity, and I can't find the goddamn setting for it.

#@%@!*!

Fuck this. I'm going to go paint in Painter and Photopaint now.

Grrrr. I FINALLY found the settings. It's under one of the goddamn JITTERING SHIT setting. It makes NO sense to put those controls under some JITTERING SHIT.

Bang-- I don't have answers to your question. I've decided to paint in Painter from now on anyways. I'll still do certain things in Photoshop, but I've decided that photoshop just isn't what works for me for the kind of look I want to achieve.

you guys are scaring me... I've been asked today at work if I want to be upgraded to 7 (currently running on 5.5 and I'm happy with it),
Thought I'd check on here to find any opinions... Should I upgrade or not???
