My machine's a PC, but I've been asked to submit work via 'Mac-readable' TIFFs... what is the difference? If so, is there a conversion tool other than PS, which I believe writes to either format?
thanks muchly

On a PC, using Photoshop, when saving a file in TIFF format you are promped for a PC or MAC version. Choose MAC... I think that's probably what they are asking for. |

Seems strange that they are asking. Considering that you can read *.tiff on mac and pc, no matter what settings you use. |

TIFF is one of the most problematic and incompatible file formats. The problem is: there are about 6 different versions of this format.
I've always had problems with tiffs - I hate them, haha
Oh and their file size is way bigger than other's formats too.
But for normal, uncompressed images use TGA - it's a simple rugged format that supports 4 channels too. |

Thanks guys - I had a feeling MAC/PC TIFFs are (more or less) one and the same, but I wanted to be sure before looking even more like a Mac-virgin idiot. And Loki, you're right - TGA rules!
best
