You know, I've had it with this board. I have been insulted from the first day I came here. I was told this is a place where there are a lot of professional artists. All I've seen are little children posting their adolescent fantasies of naked demon chicks. You people are the most insulting, childish, close-minded bunch I've ever had the misfortune of running across anywhere on the Internet.

I am never coming back here again.

I have read some of your posts, specifcially the portfolio question. Unfortunately I agree, ppl came down a little bit hard on you, but despite the ugly facade they really do mean to help.

Put it down to frustration, every day we get lots of 'newbies' asking the same questions. I try to do my bit to help them, I was once a 'newbie' too. However at some point, no matter how hard you try, it all gets too much sometimes and I get frustrated and say something to the effect of 'stupid nooby!'. Silly really, but any sane person is likely to let slip some form of frustration now and then.

In the end, it all worked out and Lunatique apologized.

Tolerance is a key word here, and it works both ways. I have had some less than gracious discussions with ppl here in the past, but you just have to brush it aside and move on.

As you have to just ignore posts that dont interest you like "adolescent fantasies of naked demon chicks". They seem to be a common topic I agree, but thats ppl's choice, and if you don't like it then dont visit those particular posts.

If you insult someone, then they are likely to insult you back. You really shouldn't have posted unless you had something constructive to say. Why did you bother to waste your time posting in a thread you didn't like? see my point?

Well all I can say is I hope you stick around. There are great ppl here, and great art too. I have learnt a lot and I hope you can too.

Personally, I love it here. Sure, the overall maturity isn't always at peak levels, but I've learned more here than I have in most of my art classes.

Dealing with the low average level of maturity on the internet is a bitch sometimes, but with the average age of net users still being in the teens you can't expect too much. You just gotta go with the flow and smile to yourself when you see someone trying to be "tough" but really just being stupid.

That's a major bummer "good bye", because dealing with these kinds of folks can be a good learning experience. Sure - there are some pretty silly folks around here, but not everyone here acts in such a manner. You shouldn't let it get to you. Stick around and try not to take things so seriously; try to look through what you deem the bad stuff and rather at the real shining gems - the helpfulness and availability of good information/content.

Folks will always use these kinds of forums as an outlet for passive aggressiveness, but I would be willing to bet that in real life they act in accordance to general manners and kindness.
