I thought I'd share some of the brush textures I use:
(all of these tile with themselves perfectly)
BPBark - good for antique-looking oils, or when painting rough surfaces
BPHalftone - for faking a basic comic halftone pattern, or ripping off Lichtenstein
BPStoney - good for subtle use in watercolor washes
BPScribbleResist - I use this one to make quick paintings look less sterile:
and last, but not least:
BPGrit - it looks simple, but it adds a lot of realism to virtual felt pens and pencils
I use Photopaint, so black=peak and white=valley. You may need to invert them to get the same effects in whatever software you like to use.
Let me know if you find any of these useful, and feel free to post your own as well. |

Thanks balistic!
They should make for some interesting experimentation in Painter when I finally get the time to experiment
Keep up the great work and thank you again for sharing your paper textures. Please feel free to post any more you develop. |

well... define brushes or fill using pattern... using these as brushes would get very messy I think... |

Actually in Painter these are just the types of things you'd want to use as papers to paint textures with. |

Yeah, these are paper textures, not brush nibs. |
