We finally got around to updating the page, yay!
http://www.artemissoftware.com
We put on a progress meter, a new desktop image, a couple of new screenies and some news bites. And I helped write that new opening paragraph! We'll have more updates to come really soon but I'm hoping to direct some traffic over there so people will check us out.
Tons of people are really anticipating this mod, but nobody is excited as we are!
We've considered making a mailing list that sends out updates ever so often, so that people would be aware when we've made a significant amount of progress and not be kept in the dark about releases and new features. I'd like an opinion on this. Would any of you subscribe to a newsletter (a very non-spammy one with only a couple of updates)to be kept up-to-date on our game's progress?
Oh, and for you people that don't like to click links, here's a little screeny to make my thread pretty

Woooow Jezz, your project has improved a lot!!!
How many people are working on this? I think you told me your b-friend and you were in this...
I would post my project's link, but compared with yours (mine is a 2D one) I feel ashamed.
I'll post it when your thread dies
Good work!!! |

tayete - Thanks! I'm currently involved in 2 projects. One that's just my bf and I (a web-based, multiplayer adventure game) and then there is this one which involves my bf and I as well as several other people. This mod is first priority.
Our development team consists of approximately 10 people. The mod includes all new levels, new player models, new weapons, new sounds and a new style of gameplay. Most people don't even recognize it as a Q3 mod!

Before I read your thread I believed I was the only girl on this planet who likes games and wants to make games. At least I'm the only female person I know personally with that kind of taste.
But then again Germany is not exactly the country that is famous for it's computer games. At least not in the rest of the world
Great stuff you're doing there. When's it going to be finished? |

Hey Jezebel that looks sweet. Can't wait to play it. Beautiful.
Hehe raupe didn't even know you were a girl. They should put a box where you can check male / female in the people's bios.
Anyway there's one German software company I miss and that would be attic Entertainment. Their games used to be great and LMK would have been the greatest of all. Oh well considering what kind of sick management they had I think that maybe it's better that they're gone... |

Smashing! I've always thought q3 diddn't have enough quality mods. Bought time someone starts doing em right? Seems like the mod has a sort of Greek-Roman theme to it. The screens are nice. |

Looks cool, beth. I'm glad to see you still come down from your pedestal of talenty-ness to mingle with the mortals |

One more question!
Would anyone here object to having their comments put on our webpage? We considered making a little update that says something like, "What people are saying about the upcoming Mythica". And then we'll have a list of comments from various gamers, from our mailbag and some of the websites that have featured us.
Ummm... nice comments please, lol. It would probably be set up sort of like this.
"Yay, Mythica looks spiffy."
Joe Shmoe - 3D Artist
Or if you wanted it could say Anonymous 3D artist or something like that
Any victims?
Beth

edit: [for Jezebel]: Mythica looks bad ass!
Bugscratch: Hehe, Attic isn't dead yet officially, at least they never announced it so far. I just hope that eventually the people that worked there are gonna do a DSA4, [a true successor and not that LMK Diablo/BG wanna be ]
Though germans still have Bluebyte, which are pretty decent. Settlers is awesome, played that to death on the Amiga a long time ago :P

Nope, we don't have Bluebyte anymore. At least not really. They got sold to Ubi Soft (which is french).
But you're right. In good old Amiga times there were some pretty good german software companies. They are pretty much all gone now or emigrated to the US (like Factor 5). Who can blame them, salaries across the big pond are much higher than over here.
But that'll change. I hope.
*sigh* |

raupe: Yeah got sold like a month ago, though they are still based in Germany, so I wouldn't call them french from now on
Bluebyte sorta sucks lately though. Settlers3 wasn't all that great, and 4 is just another rehash. Battle Isle stopped being cool after numero3 or so [History Line is still their greatest]. Though they had one really awesome party game like 4 years ago. I think it was called "Die total verueckte Rally" or something like that. Great fun, played it to death with my brother :P
I hope they will make a worthy sequel soon to that one Battle Isle squad based game. [forgot name] That one was great |

For those that didn't check the updated story on the page, here it is:
It is the era of ancient greece, a time of rising heroes and fallen warriors. Your skills as a courageous fighter have kindled the interest of the gods, and they have chosen you for a chance to gain eternal glory. Granted the power of the elements, you must wield them along with your stength and
wit to compete against other chosen combatants in the deities' games. Dangerous quests, lost treasures, and mythological creatures await you in the world of Mythica...
Accept your fate, mortal. The time has come to prove yourself worthy.
Yes, it is a Greek/Roman theme mod. Our player models include characters such as gladiators and amazons. Every level is devoted to one or more Gods/Goddesses.The screenshot you see here is The Temple of Imera I Nyktos Tis or The Temple of Day and Night OR The Temple of Apollo and Artemis. We also have someone working on the city of Atlantis where there is a temple of Poseidon. We're hoping to release a Mount Olympus map with Zeus and Hera as well.
Each god has specific powers and quests he/she grants. Various members of the team play these deities, for instance I have the pleasure of being Miss Artemis
We're unsure of a specific release date at this point but we're working at full speed right now. I wouldn't want to give an estimate publicly without consulting the rest of the Artemis members first
I'm glad to see everyone likes the screens as much as I do! Personally this one I posted is my favorite.
Bishop - You are so silly. WOOBLE! 8[__]~
But nobody answered my original question, would any of you be interested in subscribing to a news letter? I am only asking because we want to know if it's worth the effort to start one. If you say yes I'm not going to send you anything, lol.
