Hey everyone. This is my first post at this forum and after seeing all the amazing work and reading the detailed responses to peoples questions I have a big one to ask...
I am in my last year of high school and would like to know how I can get into an art related field. I hear such terms as Illustration and Industrial design, and even though I have looked into some of the course descriptions I still don't really know what they comprise of. And now for the question. Could someone please tell me what these fields (and any others you may know of) are about and how can I get into these types of courses (University or otherwise).
Any and all comments would be appreciated. Thanks for any help in advance...  |

Hi Mitchell,
Did you do any art courses in high school that would help you to build a good portfolio? You need to get some stuff to show the uni's before they'll accept you.
If you live in Victoria, I recommended RMIT uni. It's the best art and design school in Australia (apparently). I don't know about other states. |

Yeah, I do visual arts as well as other art related activities outside of school.
