Hi,

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, but the search wasn't working out for me so I thought I'd ask:

Can anyone recommend a truly good book or resource regarding perspective drawing? (architectural, interior, mechanical perspective - those aspects)

If not a book, a good website?

Thanks,

Grim

There is an excellent book on perspective by Earnest Norling. The copy that I have was published in '86, but it's much older than that. If I had to guess, I'd say it was probably drawn in the late '50s or early '60s. This quote from Amazon says it best:

Though it is printed as part of the somewhat lowbrow Walter T. Foster How-to series, the author is a true authority - he also wrote the article on perspective for the Encyclopedia Brittanica

Low brow? That's a shame they're perceived like that. There's really good knowledge in those books, especially considering that the original texts they're excerpting from are usually out of print.

I can't even count the number of excellent artists that started out with the Famous Artists School texts...

It's interesting to note that the Andrew Loomis figure drawing book was #191 in this same series. Lowbrow indeed.
