You use layers as the primary method for isolating areas, and foreground background etc.. although if you are good enough then you do it on one layer, to emulate a traditional painting method.
if you draw a shape on a new layer, then you want to shade it without going outside of it, then check the preserve transparency tick box for that layer.. (found in the layers pallete)
dont worry, about "gmk"... I don't even know what you are referring to.. perhaps 'cmyk'?
Airbrushing, well you could call it that, but most of us actually use the paintbrush, with a hard edged brush.. (brush options are in the brushes pallete).
As for tutorials.. go here:
Sijun best threads...
Hope that helps... also try a search for stuff, the button is at the top right. |

If you have trouble with airbrushing then just cheat like I do. Create a new layer and set it to a layer mode of "Lighten". Then use the KPT5 Shapeshifter plugin. Create the proper airbrush color (it needs to be fairly bright) using the light pointers against a dark (darker the better) sphere color. Then render the filter and lower the opacity of the layer as needed. Like magic everybody will think you are a god of the airbrush tool when in reality you are a looser pansy without skills. Who really cares if you images look stunning right? |
