To anyone out there,
For some reason I got intressed in modeling. I got 3d studio max r3. But I don't know how to use it or how to make use of it. Anyone got any really useful tutorials?
Thanx |

For real.... some of the tutorials I can only find can't help me very much and it deals with older version which has a different setup. |

Your best bet is to buy Paul Steed's book on character modeling in 3DSMax. It was written for version 3 and it shows the practical application for how art gets implemented into a 3d engine. Online tutorials are a waste of time and many were written by people that were only marginally experienced. |

It depends on what you want to do. Paul Steed's book is good. My recommendation is to go through the tutorials provided with R3, learn those, and start applying that knowledge to what you want to do. Experiment around a lot, practice. If forget something press F1 and search for that function. |

Learn to deal with it cause you'll be facing with this obstacle alot in the future. The concept is the same, you'll just have to figure out where it belong in those confusing interface. I'm now modelling in 3ds max while reading a Lightwave tutorial. |
