I'm desperatly trying to finish a art history essay on HR Giger and I'd like to know if anyone in the forum lists Giger as thier influence (either major or minor).
It'd be really really helpful to me if you could just post stating major or minor and a URL to your website (so I have some proof that i haven't just made up the statistics)
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Peace |

Well I guess I'm one... not the Necronomicon and such, so much as the design work he's done for films. But you can't really tell from my art nowadays, since Giger's style is so unique and instantly recognizable I kind of always shy away from using elements of it (consciously at least)... but there's this one pic, "the Chair"...
in Gallery 2 I think... http://www.optidigit.com/stevens |

Yeah, I am too. Especially my junior year in high school. Jesus christ, my classmates thought I was nuts. A couple of the other art teachers asked my teacher, when he showed the work, "Aren't you afraid he's going to skin you?"
Heh.

These are so old. I need to update my website. |

Definitely a big influence on me, but like Steven I try to avoid having direct references to his work in my own stuff, since it's so recognizable. But you should also take a look at one of his forebears, Hieronymus Bosch. Here's a couple of images:
