Some time ago there was a link to a site where they had done grafitti tags in "bullet time" sort of like the trinity kick in the matrix..the only difference was that it showed a painter doing a tag instead of kicking
Ive serched the forum but I couldnt find the post. Can someone please post the link to that site here?
And if you know how they archieved that effect it would be cool to know. |

It was done with light and shutter speeds, they write what they want in the air with the light pens and the camera picks it up and not the individual cuz they are moving and not light enough, then they change the aperature and then pose or what have you and then you can see them in the pic as well.
Thats a vague and most likely a bit wrong but its on the same track. |

Hi there,
I just thought I could add some more info on this, you may have found what you want already, but just in case you haven't ...
The effect was as far as I know invented in the early eighties by Tim Macmillan, and it is made using an array of cameras all firing at the same time.
The technique was called time-slice, and you can check out more about it at this link : www.timeslicefilms.com
I first saw it in a Rolling Stones music video long ago, but it has also been used in commercials and such.
You can also see some explanations made to simulate this effect in 3D software at this link : Bullet Time by J C Miller
For the long exposure trick (called "Light Painting"), you need a tripod, and a camera that can hold the shutter open for 5-10-30 seconds or more ... use slow film 25-50-100 ISO(ASA).
Then walk in front of the camera holding one or two flashlights and begin drawing without shining the flashlight back at the camera. You can also use fluorescent camping lights, old TVs, lasers, fire, slide projectors -- anything that gives off light. Each light source is a different brush to work with.

Dang that's nice. I know I'll be buying some slow film to put in my camera tomorrow. |
