what would you recommend wacom a5, a4 or a4oversize?
what board has the best or enough performance for modelling and painting?
what board is most pleasant working with it?
what board has the best price-performance relation?

is a a4 oversize really better than a a4normal? when do you use a oversize-board?

im looking forward for your answers....

I would recommend the A4.
The bigger the pads get, the more you have to work with your whole arm and actually a A5 would do the job too if you won't spend so much on it.
I even made the table working space smaller for quit a long time because it gave me a faster stroke. Now I don't anymore

I think it really depends on your drawing style in real life. I like to draw small so I have an A6 tablet, I've used an A4 one and I found it very hard to control my strokes since I just don't draw that big. For me an A6 tablet, and zooming right in on my artwork, offers me a lot of precision.

I donnot draw with my tablet, I just make the colors with it.
I started to work with an Intuos A5 which was really great but to small to work on french comic pages (between A4 and A3).
So, I bought an A4 oversize which has the particularity to allow portrait and landscape. Now I feel free

I have an Intuos2 5x4 (the smallest one) and it is fine for me. I generally use short stroke and a lot of precision so it suits my style. It also doesn't take up a lot of space on my desk. I would say the 6x8 is your safest bet, but it is more expensive and the 5x4 may be all you ever need.

thanks for your replies!

Fabrys: you have an oversize one? thats square, isnt it? is there more comfort in a square one than in a normal a4 one?

silber: what size is your tablet?

i don't think having a square taket isn't that good...
remember tablets have absolute corsor positioning.
so, you would end up having to move your pen a longer distance vertically than horizontally for the same screen distance.
i see best performance in a tablet size that has roughly screen ratio

correct me if i'm wrong
