I am having a hard time believing this photo, it doesn't seem to be faked, I haven't found any signs yet that it is, Any other Pro here can point something out? My cat has been eating heavily, and this picture scares the hell outta me!

My opinion -- faked.
1) there doesn't seem to be enough light on the edge of the cat's rump, compared tot he amount of light on the man's face.
2) The guy's fingers are very long... which they would be if the cat and hand were enlarged a bit. I suspect the cat was large to start with...
Funny photo... |

They showed this on "Ripley's believe it or not" saying that it was fake. I've seen bigger cats though.
These cat are for real. |

Jesus Christ, look at that second one. That's animal abuse. |

I say it's faked... I can't pin-point exactly what it is though, something about the cats head and the way he contrasts with the background I think..
somebody did a damn fine job on that second set though

The first photo looks fake due to weight balance. Look how the guy is standing. To hold a cat of that size you'd think he would have to lean back some to balance the cats weight above his legs so as not to fall forward.
If the first cat was real it looks built to handle its size. The second one looks like this poor cat I know who seriously injured his back while trying to jump up on the bed becasue he was so fat. Watch your kitty's weight. They don't know any better. |

LOL.. the first one is obviously a fake. that guy would not be able to stand that way and hold that cat. That cat would weigh at least 40 lbs.Lighting is off on the cats rear, as mentioned before. The other ones are a good job but fake as well, because the girl in the second picture would be crushed flat by the cats extreme mass, hehe. Great post, I haven't laughed that hard in weeks. |

I don't know about the second one being a fake... I've seen cats that big at cat shows. Some shows use to have the fattest cat catagory... Don't know whether they still do... And the photo with the cat lying on top of the girl... Look at the girl's eyes... She looks in pain... LOL |

Anyone ever see the 'Fat Cat Capsizing' picture? That one is a classic. |

hahah..those are cool
the biggest domestic cat is called a chausie.
its part african jungle cat..a wild cat in africa....its a fairly new breed.
I have a gorgous one.
mine was bred with a pixie bob...a partial bobcat mix.
she acts like a dog..we walk her on a leash..and she growls a lot. she has a short tail and little tufts on the ears like a lynx.
I have a bengal and a pound cat too...I love cats!
this thread made me smile.

I think the first one is a fake because the cat casts no shadow. The man holding casts a faint shadow by his feet, but there isn't any sign of a shadow from the cat. |

The first one is 100% fake. The guy in the picture is from Seattle, and one of the local news stations had a little deal on him and that picture, and how it spread across the net. Supposedly the picture was some humerous greeting card deal to be on a card for his kids or some such nonsense, but it got posted somewhere and took off from there. They showed the dude, they showed the cat. The cat was a normal cat, not the "piggy piggy" in the picture.
If anything the dude was fatter in real life. |

And I thought my cat being 20 lbs. was bad... He was put on a diet and is now a healthy weight. That third one looks a lot like my Peeper use to (but not "that" big) |
