Screw him, i'm sure your parent say the same thing to, screw them too. Go with what you love, or else you'll be spending your life in a cubicle staring at C++ ....u get stressed out...mad......then come home and screams at wifes and kids. |

Think about this: If you try to follow the things you want to do you will be happy, if at least for trying. On the other hand if you go the "safe" path even though you know it's as boring as hell, you will regret it for the rest of your life.
That's my philosophy at least. |

Metaphorically speaking:
Joseph Campbell once said something to the effect that life is like a wheel. Try to stay centered in the wheel, and you'll be able to easily deal with the times when the wheel is turning down. Being centered in the wheel means to doing what you really desire to do - regardless of the material expectations of modern day life. Not staying centered means that times when the wheel goes down will be even more terrible, for you will suffer the centrifugal forces being on the edge.
If I were you, I would seriously research just what and where I would want to go as a visual artist, for there are many concentrations one could choose from. |
