here in aus for cheapala printing just go to a do it your self place like 'kinkos' i think theres some in canada. its about AUD$2.25 for an A4 sheet of colour. or if you dont have a place like that you can go to a bureau which will cost a bit more for their services ($20 or so).
I think the best way but a bit hacky is to put a note up at a design school or uni asking for cheapala printing - there is always a kid there that has a oversize epson 800 willing to do it for $10 (cheap!). |

ok..if i go to kinkos or whatvers closest, what kind of paper should I be getting if i plan to frame it, and make it fairly professional looking? (to the point where, not considering the quality of the picture, you/general public would buy it) |

ask the printer and they'll give you some print samples to look at - its really up to you - and depends on the work... there isnt much or a price difference between papers - a few cents usually. |

If you plan on making many prints during the years to come think about buying an inkjet and glossy film. The prints look great.

yeh its pretty amazing how a $200 inkjet can do photo quality these days.
but I still love my 'canon bjc 210' 'bubble jet printer' (I still have 2 years worth of ink refills if anyones interested).

Hmm, anyone got any tips on where to go if you live in sweden? is there any place where you can get some larger poster-sized prints? |

well, i was out and about today, and i found out that blacks does it, so I'll probalby go with them. Yes I have a nice bubblejet (hp 970)printer that prints almost photoquality, but it's currently out of colour ink (except for blue, it likes printing everything god damn blue...) and the colour catridges are $50 each, plus I'd rather have it look really proffesional cause I'm planning to try and sell some on the street! |

I am using an epson 880. Bought it for less than $80. The cartridges are around $15 each. They also have generic cartridges for half the price, although i've only tried rhinoteks version so far. i just checked buy.com. only $12 per black cartridge.
Also....the reason why i bought the 880 is because the prints turned out color perfect or very close to it. My epson photo ex isn't quite as good. i would also assume that the epson 1270/1280 is great, except i didn't need the added advantage of making prints larger than letter size.
Just some thoughts....for general use i think the hp is king....for specific photorealistic printing the epson seems to be ahead.
@ Kinkos you can make some slick prints although you may need to work on color calibrating them there. That may turn out to be costly.
