You have to think that its a fair bit wouldnt you?...I mean..all these people stumbling accross this forum and all these forum people using wacom tablets etc...the people stumbling accross the forum would prob see some amazing work done with the tablet and be like..ooh...wacom tablet is like some amazing tool that can make me a fantabulous artist..they then go off and buy one...now theres 6000 or so users in this forum and quite regularly i visit all the threads in 1 page (i think its around 30 threads or sumthin?) and quite regulary i see people telling their fellow members that their fantabulous tablet arrived the other day and that theyve done such and such image bla bla...so how much business do you think is actually generated for them in this forum? |

Well even in case everyone here bought 1 Wacom that would be just a few more than 6000 which is a very small percentage of their total sales I think. It should be enough though for them to make a donation of some sort to sijun.com Hey maybe we could start group buying their stuff and try to get special rebates |

Yes! What an excellent idea!
Volume discount at Wacom for Sijunmembers.
I'd like that |

I've noticed a lot of "my first tablet pic" threads too. Though I must admit the art on this forum is enough to inspire anyone to get a tablet with a measly hope of becoming as good as the pros......... oh.. and I'm getting one in about 3 weeks |

Hmm, I wouldnt agree to counter-argument stating that only maximum 6000 wacom tablets could be sold with the help of sijun forums.
You see, your friends see your work, your friends` friends, neighbours of the friends...
and that not all - lots of sijun members publish their work in lots of other web spots.
its a chain reaction, baby.
I think sellers owe a lot to this community (although I dont own one).
And no, I dont think that discount to sijun members would be a great idea - it could generate lots of morons here signing up just for wacom tablet.
instead - it would be great for them to support web space for artists to show off their work. I see that this issue is actual for lots of "goodbrushers" here <:\

well, you speak about 6000 members. think about the thousands of people that just keep lurking here... mabe not all of them buy wacoms but a decent percentage will do... |

You would not believe the deal I can get on a Wacom tablet as a retail associate. Basically, it's the price of the next lowest size. So a 9x12 costs me the retail price of a 6x8.
Of course, it's not worth it to work this shit job, since you don't have any money anyway, and your life is Hell. |

Any profits by Wacom due to Sijun should probably be used to recoup the costs lost to all the pirated software that get used from forum to forum.

I think you may have a point. I have been a traditional artist for years (but one with computer savy, 3-D experience etc,) but have never used a tablet.
After visiting here for a little over a month or two I was convinced of the potential in using a tablet by the examples of the shear quality of the work generated here.
I actually broke down and bought one last week.
Some may say I'm a sucker to consumerism; that I was swayed to buy it simply by being "starry-eyed" with hopes of being "like the pro's who use one".
Well, nobody ever faulted a surgeon for wanting to use a scalpel instead of a garden hoe.
I won't say that a tablet is the SUPER-FIX for all those trying to make better art. It isn't.
I'm a big proponent of the learning your basics traditionally. I believe that the reason you see such strong work here is because these people studied their butts off to learn their craft (many of them in a traditional media) and then they are translating that training over into digital media.
So the tablet doesn't make you a better artist. Any more than a scalpel makes a doctor out of a salesman (although the salesman might try to convince you otherwise) The only way to be a better artist is to train at it.
I've been a traditional artist for many years and for those wishing to translate their traditional skills into the digital arena, a tablet can be very helpful. But it can't remedy a lack of skill. Don't believe anyone who tells you different.
