Hi sorry, about the redundency of this question. I am apply to an art school and I am in the process of placing my portfolio together. Yet I think it is lacking. So I propose the question. What is well looked upon in a portfolio? As in subject and technique.

From what I have heard most schools are looking for drawings from life.
Stay away from the fantasy and the big breasted women.
Also a good variety speaks well. As in variety in mediums (they like to see you have gotten your feet wet) and in subjects. Mechanical, organic, just a mixture.
I will be applying next year so I can't tell you first hand but this is what I have heard.

I agree...lots of drawing from life...both still life, figure, portrait, landscape etc...thats what youll be doing first year...also some color work is a must as well...or you will get reamed for not having it...I agree..no comic book stuff...the recruiters hate that stuff...can you imagine how many pages of that they have to sift thru each day???
