Hi im new here, how are ya? good? great

i am 18, senior in High school and looking around for art schools. Arts Institute International of Minneapolis and academy college of arts. both about the same price academy is cheaper.

I am looking to go into a carrear of computer animation after college, so i know i will probibally have to pack up and move out of minnesota unless i want to animate the clouds on the weather channel. but here are my questions for the time being

I am prety average at art, but i want to get better, i know practice is important but i am not sure what to practice, most of my art is in my profile link. any tips? also with digital art, i keep getting this cheesey look to it, maybe its just my cheezey drawings but i still would like to get better at it befor i head off to school so i have a little something more befor i get there,

so any help with photoshop six and drawing would be nice

also i just got 3d studio max 4 to play around with does anyone know anything about this, i am running through the tutorials and it has all the immages and textures pre-programed and i want to know how to make thoes. oh well sorry for the length of this, im sure you are all busy people thanks for hearing me out.

Hey, I'm going to go post pshop & 3dmax tutorial links on my website (below) right now. Check it in about 20 minutes.

Also, the library is a good place to start to learn about max & photoshop. A couple of books I recommend are:
3d studio max 3 magic (or 4)
digital lighting & rendering
digital texturing & painting
the photoshop 6 wow book (good for beginners)
I'll list a few more on my site too.

If you are wanting to do 3d animation, I suggest learning 2d animation principles. A couple of good books are:
The Animators Workbook
Animation from script to screen

The best thing to do as far as drawing goes, is to find out if any life drawing classes are offered in your area.

Anyway, hope thats helpful.
