so i'm in school right now and i'm a studio arts major, and i have a major block right now. I think it would be different if i was drawing and painting as my hobby, but how does one get around a creative block when work needs to be done! i just keep thinking too much and can't come up with anything! the only cool thing is that i'm tryin to convince my drawing professor to let my semeester long project be digital painting! how do most of you get around your creative blocks? |

Sometimes its 'cabin fever' - you just need to get away from your desk and go hang out with freinds - try to be around other people too because if you are on your own your mind may wander off back to your desk and you'll get 'remote cabin fever' :P (i made that up).
but usually its because you are working with nothing - heres a plan: research! heres how to research: first on a peice of paper write down (list, brainstorm) or draw everything you 'already know' about the project - just to get your mind booiping! and out of the rut. then "make a plan of what you want to acheive" (very very important - and make it realistic too ) - now go out and see what people have done on the same topic - before long if you stick to your plan - you'll begin to see patterns and stuff and eventually form a solid or vague idea of the final peice! hope this helps!! good luck bro!! |
