What is the average pay for an entry-level position in the field of digital art? While not being specific, what kind of pay would someone expect to get if they had a bachelor's degree (I don't have one -- yet) in art combined with experience? And what kind of pay could one expect in the various fields? Also, what is the pay as you gain experience and greatness (for lack of a better term) status?
For example what could the pay in the following fields be?
3D animation/modelling
Texture Artist
Graphic Designer/Illustrator
Storyboard artist
Matte Artist
...and of course, I'd be interested in learning the normal pay for other positions I haven't thought of. |

I'm not an American, but I found this info a little while ago, from the AIGA American Institute for Graphic Arts. They did a survey across the U.S, asking professionals what their salaries were. It's very interesting to see where the big money is actually. It's a big survey so you should have some quality info... goto
AIGA - Salary Survey
Hope that helps. |

There are so many variables!
You can make great money. But it depends on your talent, experience, the company
you work for (what their budjet allows) and if you have an agent or are good
at haggling price on your own. Also, If your inhouse or freelance...etc. etc.
I heard a saying a long time ago...and I belive it to be true....
Quote: "Do what you love, and the money will follow. Go after the money and
you will never fell it's enough." |
