Is there a hotkey in photoshop for increasing and decreasing the pressure of the brush you are using? If there is I haven't been able to find it, I can change the size of the brush with the keyboard keys [ and ], but that's about it :/.

Yeah use the numbers 1-0 to do opacity.

You can also change the brush size with [ or ]

Open your brushes pallete in photoshop to see it cyle through the options, and note that it will go onto different shaped brushes aswell.

Hope that helps. Of course you could always get a Wacom!?

What version of Photoshop?

From 3.0 - 5.5 (if I remember 5.5 correctly) Ian's post IS answering your question. In 6.0, the menu at the top of the screen, on the far right of the bar, holds the options for opacity / size / color of that brush and allows for none / stylus / fade for each.

As far as I know, there aren't any hot keys to change these settings on the fly.

You can use the num-pad to change the airbrush pressure, and the opacity of the other tools. I guess that's as close to a hot key you'll get.

IN PHOTOSHOP 6
< > to change brush size.
1-0 or any combination of numbers between 1 and 100 to set opacity.

Example:
You're painting with your airbrush tool. You can switch the size (and shape depending on the particular brush pallet) by pressing the < and > keys. If you want to set your brushes opacity to say 9%, you would quickly type 09. If you want to then set the brushes opacity to say 30%, you would simply type 3.

Hope this helps.
