Actually, it was one of my friends named Scott Fraiser. He was (like me) attending a small convention in Virginia Beach called NekoCon. A fan snapped Scott at his table with a couple of Pikachu's --which of course made him an easy target for Mr. Yablonski.
Fun is fun, but if you knew what an upstanding guy Scott is, the comments really struck a sour note. For those of you who don't know Scott, he's perhaps the ONLY American to successfully work in the Japanese anime industry, owning both his own company and as a popular director. He worked for StudioIG (perhaps you've seen his work on Ghost in the Shell?) and is generally considered the Japanese pioneer of digital animation, being one of the first to successfully convince and convert traditional studios to digital. He's also a swell guy. You can find out more about him and his anime career at http://sockfairy.com/scott/index.htm It makes for some facinating reading.
I don't know.... I laughed pretty hard up until I got to his page so I'm as guilty as everyone. It makes you think a little. And yes GreenPeach, I still love you.
