I submitted for the design graphic portfolio issue this year. I don't know about winning awards, (all seems very relative to me and so don't know how "judging" can be justified), but being considered good enough to be published in a collection is kinda a cool thing in my book. It's always nice to see your stuff in print, and it is great exposure if your normal clients aren't big or internationally marketed/distributed. It seems to say to a lot of people that your work has enough universal appeal, which, in some cases sadly, seems to translate into quality of work.
But I like them, exposure is great, but I think they can be blown out of proportion a little, especially with the choosing a winner thing, (I really don't understand how that con be done...oh well). It does seem to impress a lot of people tho so from a marketing point of view it's almost always a plus, winning or being published.
hope this helps.
Like the artwork by the way. Not really my kinda stuff but well done tho. |
