[Jezebel]

A friend of mine is trying desperately to find out what this painting is and who did it. It was on the front of a birthday card she received at some point.

All she has is this photo:



It's cropped from a picture of her room in which this card was hanging on the wall.

Here is what she said about it:

I seem to recall that the name of it was either "Siren" or "Sea Siren", but because I have the memory span of a goldfish - that could be wrong.

A noticable thing about this painting that I DO remember though is that the girl has paws rather than hands.

If anyone knows of this painting and can direct me to an image of it - I will be forever in your debt!

So can anyone recognize this little thing? If so, please let me know. Thanks so much!

no. i can't. but for me this looks like a reflektion is a kind of a crystal ball or something. it reflects an women in green-blue clothes and there is a builging in the background. a white bulding like a castle or a tower or something! with this information it is perhaps easier to find out what picture it is. if you knew what i told u before, then sorry. but my english is not the best so i didn't perhaps understand everything correct but i hope i could help!

It is a pic called "Gothic Siren" from Linda Garland, it�s from 1987, done in oil, 33x51cm and was done for a cover of a book from Michael Reeves.

I�m 99% sure that it is that pic. I recognized it because I have a book about Linda & Roger Garlands Art and that pic is on the cover of it

Maybe you can find a site somewhere. If I had a scanner I could scan it.
